It is my pleasure to inform you that I am fully competent for the position of Senior Sector Manager. The reasons for why I feel I am competent are the following:
1. Going through the circular in bdjobs.com it has been demonstrated that the Senior Sector Manager and the position have to manage staff and programs such as health, HIV, water and sanitation and Australian Volunteer Programs. Furthermore, the organization is going to major expansion. During my involvement in development arena (18 years) in the most of the time worked as member of senior management team. Sometimes worked as a member of the team and sometimes lead the team and effectively contributed to the development and management staff member as well as ensured the quality implementation or the program. I have the ability to work as a good team player and can adapt with the situation and have enough flexibility. In order to achieve the quality of performance always guided the team make all out effort to exploit the existing staff skills. During involvement with a view to maintain team sprit high level attention have been invested . In a team there may have conflict but those have handled effectively and efficiently.
2. During my involvement in the development arena I managed the staff in a participatory manner and supervision process was very structured. Staff worked under my leadership were habituated to prepare monthly activity implementation plan and instructed to submit to me at the beginning of the each month. On the basis of the plan supervision were conducted. In case of any gap or problems provided on the spot decision or just after returning from the field. To make the supervision more constructive staff were asked to inform if they change any schedule or plan. This strategy made the management more flexible and easy.
3. I worked in different organization including SWANIRVAR Bangladesh, Small Enterprises Development Program (SEDP), GUDSEK, CARE Bangladesh, Community Development Association (CDA), and Debi Chowdhurani Palli Unnayan Kendra (DCPUK). Furthermore I worked as consultant of Local NGO and designed different project / programs for those NGOs. Again, worked in the leadership position and implement as well as accomplished through maintaining due quality. I worked Tripartite Development Council (TDC) as Executive Director and managing projects on child rights, women rights, economic and health rights of he poor and hard core poor. So, it can added here that I have considerable understanding on the development programs as well development context of Bangladesh as I got chance to work in most of the development areas. It is worth to add here that in most organization I hold senior position and represent the organization in different forum and stakeholders. Along with the I have been evaluated different project and organizations and prepared reports and submitted to the respective parties.
4. During my involvement worked in the different team. Sometimes I worked as member of the team and sometimes as leader of the team. In team work team sprit is very important and therefore, I always try to keep up the team sprit and highly concern with the team performance. During the team work most of the team performance was successful and able to attain the objectives of the team.
5. I am working in the development arena for about 18 years and came to understand the development perspective of Bangladesh as well as about the region including socio-economic and political perspective.
6. Have understanding and management capacity of program are : Income and Employment Generation, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture, Nutrition and monga protection, food security, adult and non-formal primary education, quality education, rights and social justice including disabled rights, minority rights, women and child rights, Home based food production, poultry rearing, cow rearing, institution building, disaster preparedness and management, relief and rehabilitation, behavior change and hygiene promotion and gender and development.
7. It is also worth add here that I have considerable expertise in preparing and writing different document. During my involvement in different organization I prepared most of the organizational document such as reports (program, organizational annual report, donor report considering donor requirement), leaflet, brochure, and system development.
8. In it can be mentioned that in most of the organization where I worked played key role in fundraising and managed all contact and communication with the donors. During my involvement with CDA, DCPUK and TDC I have developed the fund raising strategies and prepared plan on the basis of the strategies. Again, I prepared different budget for submitting to the donor.
9. During my involvement with different organization I also prepared different presentation documents and presented in favor of the organization in front of various stakeholders.
10. Computer Competency: I know the programs are Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access and able to write the creative documents. Again, I used internet regularly as a part of fundraising strategy.
In fine, I can say that I qualified and position in the development field having considerable understanding on the development issues and considerable skills on preparing different documents.
