Capacity Requirement for the Non Government Organization

Non Government Organizations (NGOs) should have the following capacity and strengths for smooth functioning of the organization.
          
Management Practice      
-    Defined organizational structure exist.
-    Participatory decision making process exist.
                  
Planning              
•    Participatory planning process exist
•    Types of planning in practice are : Monthly Activity Plan, Quarterly Implementation plan, Half yearly Implementation plan and Annual Implementation plan.
•    Non Government Organizations (NGOs) is also preparing the Multi Year Planning for each of its project/program just before implementation.


Performance management  
•    Structured performance management System is     in place and practicing regularly
•    Transparent recruitment process is in place.
•    Human resource development plan exists.

Program Development          
•    Stakeholders participation are ensuring in program cycle
•    Project design incorporating monitoring, evaluation and reporting system.
•    Efficient and diversified staff should have to be available.
•    Staff and board have access to project document.
•    Non Government Organization (NGOs) considers gender equity in program planning, designing and implementation.
                  
Information System
•    Information Management system operationalized.
•    System are in place to disseminate and to feedback of information.

Program Reporting          
•    Non Government Organizations (NGOs) has the ability to produce appropriate reports
•    Non Government Organizations (NGOs) prepare reports on progress of activities.
•    Reporting formats are flexible and can respond to stakeholders information.
•    Non Government Organizations (NGOs) publishes and disseminate information on its operations/activities.

Financial Planning          
•    Non Government Organizations (NGOs) has Annual and Multi year budget.
•    All level staff involve in budget preparation.          


Financial Reporting  
•    Non Government Organizations (NGOs) prepares financial reports/statements in     appropriate manner.
•    Non Government Organizations (NGOs) has effective financial information system.

Financial Controlling          
•    Budget Monitoring system exist
•    Financial and inventory control system exist and practicing.
•    Internal Audit system exist
•    External Audit conducting by external Auditors.
•    Action is taking on the basis of Audit recommendation.

Working Environment  
•    Staff meeting held regularly
•    Staff need to participate in organization and program decision making process.
•    Information is shared regularly among the staff.
•    Staff should be self motivated and encourage to take initiatives
•    Staff is self-motivated.
•    Women work in a physically and emotionally secured environment.


Monitoring and Evaluation      
•    Exist a structured monitoring and evaluation tools and techniques                
•    Exist Management Information System
•    Continuous information collection, Analysis and feedback system exist.
•    System exist of problems identification and solution.
•    Baseline and impact assessment system and tools exist

Community Relation:          
•    Ensure community participation in Non Government Organizations (NGOs) initiated activities.
•    Strong rapport with the community people exists.
•    Considerable acceptability of Non Government Organizations (NGOs) in the community exists.
