Indignity and undermining situation of women in Bangladesh

It is true that the patriarchal society exist in Bangladesh. The society is generally controlled by the male members of the society. They take all decision at the family and community level. The society does not bother about the opinion of the women and girls. Indignity, torture, humiliation, undermining is the regular scenario in the country. The female members cannot take any decision. It is the authority of the male member it is the prevalent custom of the society.
Deprivation is also acute in the family and society. Female members do not own the assets in most cases. The assets are generally own by the male members. In resource allocation the women members also deprived. The little share of the fathers property and assets. In the husband’s family the situation is same. They get very little assets. Usually they are becoming the victim of violence and torture. But they have nothing to say and not getting and claiming justice as the society always works in favor of the male members. Even, in food distribution, there exist discrimination. The boys get priority in food distribution. The boys and male members will get good and nutritious food and female members and girls get comparatively less. The like a rule of the society and it is created by the society. In service sector, there not equal treatment. The male members get priority in job market. The parents and guardians do not like educate the girls children but different treatment for the boys.In this way, the the women and girls are ignored in the family and society. We need to create a environment where the women will have the dignity, asset, power and respect and they will be treated equally.
