It is really that in whole Bangladesh TB program has been making all out effort to attain its targets that fixed up globally with a view to detect the cases and treatment. But the fact is that to mitigate and attain those targets alone is not enough and possible to reduce morbidity, mortality as well as transmission. The delay in finding out the cases are the major problem and constraints in Bangladesh. Therefore, it will require urgently to take necessary innovative and self sustainable approaches. Then it would be increased the universal access to TB care and ensure treatment for all the patients in the urban and rural areas are able to make routine and early use of high quality of diagnosis and treatment services.
There are many areas in the country are extreme vulnerable as there exist a lot of remote areas and the people living there and they have to access to any services for disease control including TB care related services. Therefore, this kind of program is highly necessary in the countries rural and urban areas including in city corporation. In the rural areas the community people specially women hesitate to say openly that they may have attract by the TB as the rural people generally hate the patients if they know. Even sometimes and many of the rural people do not want to go to the residence of patient in the fear that they may also be affected. This is very true fact that must have to be removed from the society to make this program a success.
The main victims are the school children, street children, child labor women, slum dwellers, floating people, sex worker, persons with disabilities, prisons of jail, general population irrespective of caste, creed, culture, ethnicity and religion. The project selected these primary beneficiaries considering the perspective that they have no access to health related services including health facilities like TB care, vulnerability, living in remote part of the areas, lack of awareness and understanding and poverty situation
We need to design the project with a view to detect and ensure access to quality care for the TB patients including the follow up services for underserved and vulnerable people living in urban and rural areas of different areas of Bangladesh during two years project period. And the specific objectives the project a)To Increase community knowledge, understanding and awareness about TB and promote care seeking behavior among the community people including women and children for TB services and to counter social barriers, b) To create a community-based system that would detect the patients within the possible earliest time and ensure access to treatment services through ensuring social and financial support and c To sensitize and make the government officials and policy makers responsive through advocacy initiatives and activities of the project should be undertaken that would contribute to the attainment of the project outputs and objectives of the project mentioned above.
