In the Sanitation Movement the Mason can play Critical Role to mitigate the community needs.

During the sanitation movement, local masons and small entrepreneurs can be supported millions of families in constructing latrines (mainly pit latrines). Recognizing their competencies and potential the program can be designed to enhance the nation’s abilities to provide affordable options for improved sanitation to households. The program engaged in entrepreneurship building, marketing support , development of low cost sanitation solutions, and establishment of a new financing mechanism with the local masons and entrepreneurs. Further, it can be identifying local masons who were interested in engaging in sanitation as a business. There were a lot of candidates, most of whom were already engaged in ring-slab manufacturing or similar businesses, such as shop owners selling sanitation products. The program can be worked with these entrepreneurs on marketing and business development approaches. It needs to be trained entrepreneurs to improve their businesses after the training and need to make arrangement to provide them the loan support to expand the production.
Among the marketing strategies it needs to identify the local resources persons who can motivate and encourage the local people to install the sanitary latrine.
Regarding low-cost options for toilet facilities, hand washing devices, and solid and liquid waste management, the programs can be examined and collected a number of options and need to develop learning materials on the different options, and conducted hands on training for local mason-entrepreneurs for their manufacture. Very quickly after the basic training, however, the entrepreneurs needs to be introduced innovations on these options to suit the preference and budgets of their customers.
One of the major strategies can be the better contribution of the program that may be the development of a new financing mechanism to support entrepreneurs with working capital, which in turn can be allowed them to offer payment in installment considering the abilities of the producers groups.
