Problems of under 6 children related education and their education


Needs & constraints of the target region: Over 70% of the school going age group children enrolls in the formal schooling system others 30% is some how being neglected. About half of them (70%) attend regularly and almost 40% of them drop out and out of school. From the precious fifty per cent, approximately 60% attain completion of primary education and about 5% are able to pass the higher secondary school certificate examination. In every social indicator, the female child far worse than her male counterpart. Child labor has been a major concern. Laws regulating to child labor exist. So its need to be established pre-schooling system in the areas for building school going habit of the children, when their age is 4 to 6. But schooling is not sufficiently child-friendly. Therefore, a child friendly environment need to be established.

Problems to be resolved and need to be met: We will established pre-schooling system with the 4-6 yr of aged children involving their guardians. Already Non-Government organization has developed a pre-school curriculum for the children. It’s a one year course. After completion the one year course NGO"s will try to admit the children in the formal primary school in the locality. By this time children will be habituated for reading in formal school and we hope after complete the pre-education children will continue their education because their foundation has been made.

The following Main Project activities that can ensure the education related problem of the children:

Open Pre-School Center: It needs to require to establish pre-primary education for the target children. Besides, some extra curricular activities such as music, dance, drama, theater games etc will be introduced as a part of lessons attract children towards school. The schools needs to constitute in cluster basis. For each of the school there should have a supervision process to oversee the attendance of the students, performance of the teachers and progress of children.  Each school will have a parent-teacher committee and quarterly meeting will be held at every school to share the progress and problems of the children. The decisions of the meeting will be implemented for further development of the children. The teachers and school supervisor will be trained by a professional trainer to run the program effectively. Monthly refresher course will be provided to the teachers by school supervisor. Every teacher will prepare daily lesson plan for the conduction of class and the supervisor will check the plan. The supervisor will report to the Project Coordinator and prepare necessary reports. All the activities of the program will be discussed in the monthly Co-ordination meeting. Measures will be taken accordingly for the development of the activities.

Children collection: Every teacher will collect children for running pre-school activities. 30 children will be collected for each school.

Develop Pre-school curriculum: For smoothly running of the program pre-school curriculum will be developed. Already some of the NGO's have a pre-school curriculum but this curriculum will be revised by the training officer for the better implication. The revised curriculum will be finalized through a workshop.

Develop Education Materials: Training officer will be developed education materials as per criteria of the beneficiaries. He will be ensuring with the teachers about materials using for class conducting through on the job training.

Established school management committee: There will be a school management committee in each school consisting of 05 members among the teachers and parents. Quarterly meeting require to be held at every school to share the progress and problems of the children. The decisions of the meeting will be implemented for further development of the children. 

Publication: Some publications will be published  through the project for information dissemination. Publication serve purpose to make the people understand about the project information.

Sustainability: Through this 3 years project, organization and staff will be skilled. So at the end of the project, schools will be running by the community & organizational support. Because school will be constructed, Materials will be developed & organizations will be skilled. Besides, community people will be aware about their children. In the 3 years project cycle a procedure will be established through the procedure schools will be running easily.
