Transparency is an important ethical and ideological practice to improve trust, understanding and confidence between a Non-Government Organization and its stakeholders. The Non-Government Organizations perceived that the transparency can increase the acceptability among the parties and stakeholders involved.
It is important to know and understand the idea and concept of transparency. It can be referred as openness of information among stakeholders involved with the programs, projects and organization. In the development field the expectations of transparency gradually increasing among the stakeholders as it is contributing in reducing the misunderstanding and confusions. Further, it has been increasing relationship and reliability among the parties and stakeholders involved as it an ethical value of the organization. The transparency can also help in human resource management having the practices of openness of information. Though, the improvements of an NGO’s transparency is not always ethically acceptable as various forces can be affected the transparency level of an NGO. The five main forces such as privacy, security, financial support providers i.e. donors, competing organizations and beneficiaries that have a significant value and importance upon the level of NGO transparency.
The ways to be transparent of a Non-Government Organization (NGO) are as follows:
- Not hiding any information to any parties or stakeholders involved and it is working with.
- Providing all necessary information to the donors and is providing all types of information considering the requirement.
- Providing necessary information to the participants/beneficiaries.
- Providing information to the Counterpart and Partners.
- Maintaining close relationship and touch with Government and providing all necessary information to the authorities at all level.
- Regular meeting and sharing information.
- Providing reports with sufficient qualitative and quantitative information.
